Cherry Blossoms - Altered Bottle

Hello Everyone!

This is the time of year when the flowers on the Cherry Blossoms trees bloom downtown DC at the Tidal Basin. It a big deal around here, we have a festival, a parade, food and people from all over the world visiting. It quite fun! I made a Cherry Blossom altered bottle art piece in honor of the Cherry Blossom, plus I felt compelled to do something with this beautiful square bottle. The bottle is a Cherry wine bottle from one of the vineyards in the area, which was delicious with pate, by the way.

How it's made

I started out by painting the bottle with a teal acrylic paint. I painted on three sides, the fourth side was left unpainted, to use at a frame. I used a lace trim for the opening.  I used a wooden knob as the bottle stopper. I added stenciled shapes on the three sides to make the piece interesting. To the neck I added some bling; added a chain where I hung metal key, Czech beads, and wire wrapped aqua tear drop beads. The flower are made from fabric.
