Ceramic Bird Cage Dress

Hello Makers!

Been focusing more more and on ceramics. I have completed several pieces. Some did not survive because they broke in the firing process or the glaze ruined them. Some did not survive because I did not like it and took a hammer to it...sad but true. I will slowly show my pieces that were successful. For instance, I made this ceramic dress where I made the bottom look like a birdcage. This was fun to make. I first colored in the entire dress with turquoise underglaze, then sealed it with wax.  I manually drew the birds and bars then carved out the image. Then added black underglaze into the images and wiped back the excess. Because the turquoise was protect by the wax, it did not stained the color. I finished it with clear glazed. This technique is called sgraffito. Hope you like it.

Imagine-Upcycle a Pencil Holder

Hello Makers!

Today I have a fun upcycle project to share. I had an old, unused pencil holder that I did not care for; but it was in good condition. So what is a person to do? Upcycle it and make it your own, of course. I upcycled this pencil holder with Imagine's new Mboss embossing powder. Check out the tutorial.
